2024 brings a bevy of changes and new frontiers for Honda Motors. It starts with the Tokyo Auto Salon and the company’s new prototype – the Honda Civic RS. The prototype featured a manual transmission, something new for the JDM market, but there is no word on any ponies for the upcoming model – let’s assume it’ll have more than the base model but less than the CTR.
So, an updated Si with improved handling? Honda did promise “further refinements to the joy of driving”. The striking red “RS” badge was placed both on the grille above a revised bumper as well as on the rear of the car. The prototype featured Civic alloy wheels, but who knows what the production version will have? There are no plans to bring the RS to our shores for the moment, but once the parts are out there, at least pieces of it will make it over.
Not to be left out, Honda also premiered an updated “H” logo at CES 2024. It’s horizontally elongated and vertically shorter than the version we’re used to. This is significant as we haven’t seen a change to the legendary logo since 1981. In other words, a whopping 42 years. Though no current models are sporting the logo – it very well may be attached to future electric models: namely cars based on the Honda Saloon and the Space-Hub concepts.
